Your Home Visit:
Everything you need to know about your upcoming home visit with your midwives!
Think of your home visit as a birth planning party. We reel in all the details for that special day to make it a memorable and supported event when it's time to meet your baby.
Your pregnancy is in the homestretch and trust us, it will go by quickly in some ways. Preparing for the homevisit is a giant step toward preparing for your birth. It's getting real and exciting! Today we will give you a quick checklist to best prepare for our visit together:
1. Fill out the Homebirth Plan worksheet, we will use this to discuss how you imagine the birth going.
2. Gather all the necessary Birth Supplies and have them ready for us to check and organize.
3. Trial run your birth tub before your visit. If you don't have one yet- use THIS info sheet to acquire one ASAP.
4. Know whether you will want GBS testing, we do the swab at the home visit (actually, most of our clients prefer to do it themselves). Complete the consent in your portal beforehand please.
5. If you know your decisions for Vitamin K, Eye Ointment and the Newborn Screen, please complete these consents in the portal as well.
6. Get the answers to any other questions you may have at Homevisit FAQ.
